Geocache Description:

Bass Falls Preserve

Awesome 67 acre preserve located off of Route 218 in Alna, Maine. Parking is at trail head: N44 05.761 W069 36.969. This 3/4 mile trail brings you down a very easy walking and well defined trail through several different ecological systems. You'll start in a field...follow the path that is outlined by the birdhouses...crossing over small streams and through old growth forest...the trail is easily followed and easy walking with some elevation changes and places that appear as though they can get very muddy during rainy periods... Instead of grandma's house you'll end up at a fisherman's cabin quaintly placed along side the Sheepscot River. Within sight of the cabin is where you will find an ammo can hidden as inconspicuously as possible. Please replace the cache as found and with the hint there should be no reason to "tear up" the area.

Please stay on the marked trails and treat this precious area as though it were your own. You'll be looking for an ammo can hidden under a blow-down that can be found behind a large three-treed one-stump hemlock. Please try not to disturb the area too much!! Most of all enjoy the tranquility of the area!!!
