Forest falls Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
The Forest Falls are well known to locals in the area, but not many tourists go there. The only 'legal' way to go to the falls, is to park at the "groen erfenis" picnic site, at the Maria Shires waterfall, between Graskop and Sabie. (see also cache Mac Mac: Maria Shires). From here there is a hiking trail to the falls.
This is a perfect spot to spend a few hours in summer, you can swim under the falls and have a picnic on right next to the falls.
The hike should take about half an hour.
To find the cache you'll have to follow the footpath on the right of the falls, which will take you to the top of the waterfall. Before you reach the top, there is an "open spot" where your GPS will pick up the satelites again.
To say the cache is hidden under a rock close to a tree, wouldn't help, because there are quite a few rocks and trees in the area. What I do know is that there are not many rocks under which a small plastic container will fit in.
Once you find it, you'll have to use some muscle, to remove the covering stone.
