The Board of Directors of BAGO (Bippus
Area Geocaching Organization) has authorized us to invite you
to the
First Annual BAGO HotDog
Bash.
The BASH will be held at the Tailwaters
Picnic Area at the Spillway of Salamonie Dam, along the banks of
the beautiful Salamonie River from 10:00a.m. to 2:00 p.m on August
12, 2006. You can walk down the wooden stairway/boardwalk to reach
the point where the river emerges from under the dam--and where the
catfish abound!
BAGO will provide HotDogs, buns, mustard,
Ketchup, Big Budda's Potato Salad and Baked Beans a la Patrick,
paper plates and plastic forks. Your mission, should you choose to
accept it will be to bring your own beverages and your camp
chair.
If you want to bring chips or whatever to
share, you may, but it is not required.
Please RSVP here with the
number in your party and number of hotdogs you will consume.
Non-checked plus ones are welcome.
There are modern facilities here,
including super-clean bathrooms with flush toilets!
If you are coming from the north, go thru
Lagro, do the Bald Eagle Cache (MWMK), cross the river and proceed
to Hanging Rock Road. Do the cache at Hanging Rock (NXA9), then
turn south on 500E, east on Division, south on 600E until you can't
go any further. We would like to see all of our brothers from
CINCO, NEI-GEO, INDIGO, etc. that can make it.
We are planning on three
(2) new permanent caches in the immediate area that you can log, to
be published on the morning of the event.
UPDATE: We will be having a "Closest to the Pin" contest at 1:00
sharp. This contest will be a little different than usual, tho. It
will be a timed event. Everyone will have 5 minutes from the GO!
command,to enter the coordinates, to get to the site, and place
their right foot on ground zero. At the end of the five minutes,
whoever's foot is closest to the mark wins. (Garmin owners will be
given an 8" handicap).
There are twenty
geocaches within a one mile radius of the event, including
Patrick's Secret Waterfall (K67H), which is within walking distance
and is one of the larger waterfalls in the
area.
And no , this will probably not qualify as a MEGA event. Small
and Intimate.
