Geocache Description:

This is a slightly unusual cache hidden in a suburban area.

The name of the cache has two meanings, really. I think you'll catch the references upon arrival or in the following narrative.

If you are native to the area, you will recognize the "landmarks" the cache is near. When I moved to Columbus over twenty years ago, this was all farmland owned by the Big Bear Farms (grocery store chain). I would see the grain silos on the way to the zoo with the kids with the company logo facing south. There wasn't much else around the area then. Unfortunately, Big Bear went belly up (meaning #1). Now the surrounding area is all developed and the farm that was, is no more. Another grocery store chain has purchased the farmland (meaning #2) and the silos are still standing on an island in the parking lot.

There are often muggles about, so this will require some stealth, but I placed the cache in a spot that should provide you some cover. Feel free to take the cache back to your car and examine the contents and sign the log (please remember exactly where you found it). There is only room in the container for very small items if you wish to trade. Please don't try to overstuff it.

There is no need to disturb any landscaping as you hunt the cache. When you spot the cache, please take note of exactly where you found it and replace the container in the same place. This "bears" repeating as the proper placement aids greatly in its camoflage. I live close by, and it seems that often when I check on it, it is not in its proper place.

I "rehabed" this cache on 5/17/10. Four years of service was taking its toll on the container. Everything is back in place now and back to the original design. I also stocked it with some seashells that I collected while snorkeling in the Caribbean. Please only take one if you choose to trade items. The original cache placement held fossils that I found in that nearby country called Indiana and they went fast!

Thanks to all the cachers who enjoyed this one and returned with friends to see it again! It brings great pleasure to read the logs! I will admit that as the owner of a handful of caches, this one is my proudest. At my age, it may have been my lone flash of brilliance in a decade, but it's been fantastic to hear the feedback. And many thanks to Outdoor Blonde for the added inspiration in creating it. She was, and is my mentor.
