Geocache Description:



Thames Path - Remenham Wood

Remenham Wood is an area of woodland just to the north east of Henley.  It is close to the Thames Path, yet in an area of quiet countryside.


You can make this a fairly short walk from the towpath, or take a circular route from Henley Bridge, through the woods and return via the footpath.

For the shortest route of around 0.25 miles:
Leave the towpath just to the south of the Upper Thames Rowing Club at N51 32.785 W0 53.695, and head east to the start of the footpath at  N51 32.763 W0 53.646.  Head south for a short while and then east, taking the permissive footpath up the north side of the woods to the cache.

For a circular route of just over 1.5 miles:
Head east from Henley Bridge and take the 2nd left down Remenham Lane.  After about 200 yards take the footpath on the right heading up the hill.  You will pass Minty's plaque at the top :-(
Continue along the path, heading for the stile at N51 32.567 W0 53.630 (careful here because it's a bit dodgy!)  Continue north to the cache.  
To get back to the Thames, take the permissive path west to N51 32.763 W0 53.646 and then cross the lane to the river at N51 32.785 W0 53.695.

You are looking for a camo snap-lock container, containing the log, pencil and a few swaps.
