Geocache Description:

CACHE IS NOT AT THE GIVEN COORDINATES, please read on!

Grandma, this one’s for you. The cache will be found in Greenlawn Cemetery in Delta, OH. Parking is ample, and there are more hills here than found on average in Northwest Ohio. This is a quite simple 2-stage multi, once you figure out the initial coordinates. Even that isn’t too hard.

HINT: If you forgot to figure out the stage one coordinates before leaving home, check to see if the library is open. You could always stop by to find the information; it’s around the corner on the south side of Main (402 Main St., Delta, OH 43515).

The first stage is my grandma, the cookie lady's plot. With some research you will find the starting coordinates. Solve the below word find puzzle, filled with words that remind us of baking with grandma around the holidays. You will get coordinates for the headstone of the first stage by counting the number of uncircled letters left in the rows or columns.

N 41° 34.(14th row from top)(12th row from top)(first column from left – 2nd row from top)
W 084° 00.(13th row from top – 10th column from left)(4th row from top)(12th column from left)

I remember my grandma bringing us here to water grandpa’s flowers. The house to the south of the cemetery entrance used to have the most beautiful flower gardens, and I would go visit them with her when I was very young. I always liked the large patches of petunias that were in large beds at the bottom of the hill, as you could see them from Main Street on the way into town.

To get to stage 2, take my grandpa’s age when he passed (Note: Date of birth: October 19, Date of Death: July 8) Multiply the age by 7 and add to the north. Multiply the age by 10 and add to the west.

N 41 34.(030)
W 84 00.(200)

(Modified - 7/10/07) The final is a grey magnetic micro tin. You can see the stones of several of our relatives and friends of the family from here. I hope that you enjoyed this, and thanks for allowing me to share some family history with you!

This cache was hidden with my cousin Janel, and I thank her for assisting with the cache placement and sharing the evening with me, hopefully we can get her finding some caches soon! Thanks to Bluegrass & Greenthumb (Mrs. BBD's mom and dad) who helped me to more quickly revise the hide after some initial problems.
