Geocache Description:


The site was settled in the 1890s by the Andersens, Norwegian immigrants who farmed and fished and cured meat. The original homestead sat on a 100 acre property. On it the Andersens built a 2-story house that had associated with it a well, spring, barns and flagpole.
Prior to european settlement, Native Americans journeyed up and down the shoreline of the Hood Canal. The propetry has also served as a burial ground evidenced by the discovery of two skeletons unearthed by Silverdale High School students in 1931.Donations for the land was by provided in part by Sandra Pelandini.
Orginial contents of this cache: toy car, Ninja turtle, Sonic dude, blue clues cards, 2 CDs, and camera holder.
