The format for the Event will be a Poker Run, and Event Cache cards
will be placed only in new, unpublished, yet permanent caches
throughout Valencia County...18 new caches hidden by Zuni Kid,
Enabler, KD5NTL, By Guess & By Golly, Team Tuxawuxa, av8ndv8 +
tealeaf, Rodr88, Cachingwidow, ManzanoWolfe, brendy6, and
suz55tbird. .
We'll meet at Willie Chavez Park in Belen . The above
coordinates are for the park entrance. Go to the southeast corner
of the park, where there's a group shelter. I suspect that many of
us will be hanging around beforehand, but at 10:30 a.m.,
you'll be able to pick up the unpublished cache pages, your first
Event Cache card, and other information. We'll gather back at
the park starting at 3:30 p.m. to award prizes, trade adventure
stories of the day, and have supper.
Tent camping/RV spots are available for Friday and/or Saturday
nights at Willie Chavez Park for our group only at no
charge. IMPORTANT!! If asked, please confirm that you are there
with the Girl Scout group (long, dull story). There are also a
couple of motels in the Belen/Los Lunas area.
UPDATE!!: Friday night @ Luna Mansion: Cocktails upstairs at
5:30, dinner downstairs at 6:30. Go in the front door. Carpool if
possible. Dinner is prix fixe Sirloin, Chicken, or Catfish. Full
dinner + soft drink is $16.95; dessert + $1.50. For directions

Saturday night, at 4:30-5:00, we'll be grilling burgers and
hot dogs with chips and sodas for $5 per person; bring a dessert to
share if you'd like (thanks to KD5NTL for coordinating the
food!). Please sign up for supper with your "will attend" log, so
we have plenty, and we'll collect at the time.
Froggy, of Froggy&Daisy is planning special activities for
kiddos for Sat. evening after supper (thanks so much!), and we'll
have a campfire later in the evening.
Enabler and Zuni Kid have donated great prizes, including cache
containers ready to go, with logs and geocache stickers, Team
Tuxawuxa has donated a couple of geocoins (Cool! Thanks!), nt7v
sent a box of awesome pins, buttons, coins, and evil nanocaches,
and there will be lots of other geocaching prizes to be had.
