Geocache Description:

visit the remains of osceola, one of central nevada's many mining towns that's gone to ghosts.

Osceola reached its peak in the mid-1880s when it had more than 500 residents. It was one of the first towns in Nevada to have electric lights and boasted the first telephone in White Pine County.

One of the worlds largest gold nuggets, said to have weighed 23 pounds was found in Osceola. Perhaps while looking for the cache you'll get lucky and find a big ole gold nugget, you never know.

Intermittent mining continues in the area and there is one local resident -- please respect private property. There's a decent gravel road (4wd not needed, probably could even take a passenger car up if you took it slow.)
