Geocache Description:

This cache is at the site of Philips Field / Majors Stadium. The facade of the stadium is all that remains and a newer historical marker is nearby. Enter the cache zone from around the east side of the facade.

I'm a huge baseball fan and the remains of this historic stadium really made my baseball pants go crazy. Casey Stengel and Joltin' Joe DiMaggio once played here in an exhibition game against the minor league Greenville Majors team.

Take a little time to read the historical marker for the story behind the field. The cache is simply the impetus to get you to this spot.

This side of town is not the nicest so I wouldn't recommend trying this one after dark.
