t.a.folk: The hint item had grown greatly since we placed the cache during 2006, getting into this cache is now a challenge & has not had a finder for 16 months, so we decided today to remove the cache and archive it. Thanks to all the past finders.

Geocache Description:

Cache is placed in the Forestry Commission Uddens Plantation that is situated close to the Ferndown bypass (A31).
The walk is about 2.5 miles from car back to car if starting from the co-ords given for the parking at the west end of the plantation. .

In Uddens Plantation there are many wide paths that can be followed,including part of the Castleman Trail,making this area popular with walkers and joggers. The Plantation has a diverse range trees and plants other than pines and is part of a Site of Nature Conservation Interest (SNCI)

The cache is placed with the knowledge of the Forestry Commmission and complies to the conditions of the New Forest and East Dorset Permissions Agreement. the agreement
N.B. as part of this agreement it is not permitted to seek this cache during the hours of darkness.
Please do not leave any edible items

Free Parking for a few cars is available in two small pull offs near the Forestry Commission “Cannon Hill” sign at 50 48.661 001 55.908 along the minor road between Cannon Hill and Uddens Plantations.
Please observe the “Leave Gateway Clear “signs.

The cache is located just a few yds from a wide gravel path bordering Uddens Water.No need to leave the paths except for the last few steps

The cache is a 1.1 litre clip and close container.
Please check for muggles approaching along the gravel path before accessing cache.
