*************URGENT UPDATE*****************

URGENT!!!!

Change of plans due to inclement weather. Camping plans are cancelled both nights. The event will be held tomorrow at a park in Palatka with a pavilion large enough to accomodate everyone. The smoker will still be in attendance...can't have an event without food!

Timetable and all is still the same...hanging out will begin around noon...

Paint and I are emailing everyone who has posted to the page.

Parking for the pavilion where the event will be held is near 89GTA's NASCAR Series #2 cache (GCMTPD). From what I hear if you are coming south on 17 into Palatka you can't miss it. There will be signs posted too.

Come join us for a day (or two) of a lot of fun and a little business..

Here is the time table (what there is of it...)

4pm - elections
6pm - Approximate food time..

If you are arriving after the gate is closed Friday or Saturday night:

There will be a small stump near the base of the gate opener thing where you swipe the card to get in. Sorry to be so technical about the description...anyway, the card will be inside the stump. Swipe the card, drive through the gate, and please replace the card for the next person.

There will also be a couple of signs to point the way to our camping area. Be advised that the last couple of miles into the preserve are dirt roads. There is some construction going on, and the roads look closed but I assure you they are not! The road is open, follow the signs...

Another year has come and gone. Come do your NEFGA duty and help us plan for the
future...make sure your membership is up to date, and come vote for
next year’s officers. The nominees are:

President: The Federation or Mr. SuzyQ
Vice President: StressMaster - unopposed
Secretary: GISTammy - unopposed
Treasurer: GatorRx - unopposed
Promotions Director: Shimski - unopposed
Membership Secretary: Novemberbabies plus1 - unopposed

Please note that any and all cachers are invited to and welcome at this
event, regardless of membership status. Voting will be the only activity
limited to confirmed voting members of NEFGA.

We will be reserving a camping area for Friday and Saturday nights.

The camping spot, and the whole preserve, are beautiful! Kayaking and canoeing are available, but it's bring your own. No rentals available.

Elections and the Luau (read: FEAST!) will be
held Saturday afternoon and evening. Traditionally, luaus are held
at sunset...but that might be a little late to eat…I do know SOME PEOPLE
who get grumpy when they are too hungry...we will be providing roast beast
in some form or fashion, and everyone is asked to bring a Hawaiian or luau-themed
side dish or dessert. Side dishes can be kept in coolers overnight if necessary, and re-heated in the official Winn-Dixie/NEFGA Smoker which will be in attendance, thanks to Shimski.

Cachers are invited to wear their best 'island' attire and compete for the 'Ulala
Po'o' award for best outfit...

There will be temporary caches placed for the event, and some
permanent ones as well.

Here is a beginning list of items we could use for general purposes:

Extra coolers
Extra chairs
Paper goods (napkins, plates, plastic forks and spoons, cups, serving utensils, etc.)
