Hidewood Rest Area. Interstate 29 South Bound.
There is a nice brass plaque at 44 42.071 96 50.859 describing the interesting history of this region. Raiding indian parties would cache themselves in the low creekbed, among the trees. The early white settlers would pass them by. Evidently, they needed better GPS devices.
The cache is a plastic rubbermaid type. It is very well hidden on the truck side of the line of trees. It might be a challenge to reach in far enough from the grassy area. There are actually two lines of bushes with enough room to move between the two. It was covered with dry grass to hide it better.
I averaged out 5 readings to get to the current coords. I hope you enjoy your stop at the Hidewood. If you have been driving for a while, be sure to get out and exercise.
