Geocache Description:

A sneaky little mystery cache with plenty of heads to help

What a cool little park! This place has really been cleaned up since I was last here. A fountain was spewing water skyward while kids giggled about while feeding the baby ducks. And like I said, there were plenty of heads to put together to find this cache. A bridge over not-so-troubled waters, a gazebo, sports and walking trails. Wow! Pretty cool and what better way to bring people here then to put a sneaky little cache here. This is located at a nice park in a Sarasota neighborhood with history dating back to the 1920’s and this park was built to honor John Hamilton Gillespie, first mayor of Sarasota (visit link)

This mystery cache will take you around Gillespie Park but the cache itself is not in the park. You will need to go to the following locations and take the observations as requested to find the coordinates for the final cache location.

The first spot is the coordinates listed above N27 20.650 W82 31.981 At this location you will find yourself staring out and being watched by historical golden heads. The question is how many golden faces are surrounding you. Count these and move along to the next location. Make this number HEADS1

Move to N27 20.659 W82 31.976 and you will experience de-ja-vu and find yourself being watched with golden stares again. If the stage fright of all this attention doesn’t get to you, once again count the number of historical golden heads around you. You can take a moment and check out the names and the history that surrounds you. Make this number HEADS2

Once you take your bow and step away from your golden audience, move to the coordinates N27 20.644 W82 31.987 and if you had a flag for each of the poles you find yourself by, how many flags would you need? Make this number FLAGPOLES

Now to check out the park a little, head to coordinates N27 20.588 W82 32.010 and be careful of the ducks and ducklings around the pond. The ducklings may appears cute and cuddly but I am sure mommy wouldn’t appreciate you approaching them. At this new location you will find yourself standing among a group of palm trees. Pretty simple, how many palm trees? Set this as PALMS.

You are now ready to figure out where this tricky little mystery cache is located.

N27 20.5(HEADS1 + HEADS2 + PALMS)
W82 32.0(HEADS2 + FLAGPOLES + PALMS - 1)

Plug that into your GPS and you’re ready to seek out the final. The final is micro cache that is well hidden and when you find it, use your best stealth so it remains well hidden. There may be muggles around but where this is hidden it should be pretty easy to distract from your intentions.

Be sure to bring your own pen as this micro doesn’t contain a pen, just a log and some neat scenery. I would advise against visiting this after dark as it might attract some muggles with bad intent. Plenty of parking around the area, too.

Enjoy the hunt and take a minute to enjoy the beauty of this spot.
