***CACHE MAINTENANCE IS REQUIRED*** Could someone who is headed out that way put a new small spiral log book into the cache along with a new pen/pencil?? I cannot get to the cache due to physical limitations but would like to see it continue on. Thanks. This cache has been going since 2006-let's keep it going as so many folks enjoy the walk out to the cache!
This cache is located on the Star Lake Interpretive Hiking Trail (red trail) located just west of the Star Lake store and campground. The road leads into the Star Lake State camping area. Continue past camping area (left) and continue straight ahead until you reach the end of the road way (1/4 mile or so) The parking lot is located at the end of the roadway. There is water (pump it yourself) located at the parking area along with a pit toilet.
The entire trail is about 2.5 miles and the cache is located about midway through. Take plenty of fluids along on hot days. Or after you find it, go for a dip in the lake to cool off. Excellent "private" swimming area.
**DOGS NOT ALLOWED ON THIS TRAIL**
***Cache is a 1-gallon plastic UTZ-pretzel container which has a custom camo paint job. This cache should be easy to retrieve in winter, but could become buried by snow.***
