Geocache Description:

Thames Path - The Flower Pot Men of Aston

Was it Bill or was it Ben?

To some of us, this simple question will bring back happy memories of our childhood.  Bill and Ben, the flowerpot men, were probably my favourite characters on the BBC programme
'Watch With Mother', broadcast every Wednesday afternoon.

Each episode began with... "Once upon a time there was a little house. All around the house was a beautiful garden, and down at the bottom of the garden was a place where the man who worked in the garden left his things when he went into the house to have his dinner."

How easy it must have been to amuse us children back in the 50's and 60's!

To complete this cache you will need to do a little research on the programme and answer a few simple questions before going on site.  All the information you need can be found on one website.

Nearest parking is at or close to the appropriately named Flower Pot public house at the coordinates above - it's well worth a visit to see its interesting decor alone!
The final cache is less than 1/4 mile from the Thames Path and the Flower Pot.

Finally, don't miss out on the Bill and Ben cache a short way up the Thames Path to the east.
