Located in an awesome state park beside a cool lake.
This is my first cache and I'd like to dedicate it to the memory of my grandma, Vivian, who visited here with us when I was a baby. Will post a photo soon of me and grandma---at the time I wore a little green cap.
This cache requires a special use permit from the state. No food or other items that would attract animals (especially bears) may be placed in the cache. No weapons or harmful items like ammo, knives, lighters, etc. Be gentle to the location. Do not tear it up. Try to keep the vegetation around the cache intact and natural.
Initial cache contains FTF prize of new unactivated TB tag and a FTF geobutton. Other swag includes Montana whistle (possible future micro cache), frog stamp, rubber frog, water bottle carbiner, tape measure, Alaska thimble, Mepps fishing lure, and some bug wipes.
Do yourself and everyone else a favor and purchase the annual state park parking pass. The Mat-Valley office is located right before this state park. If you enjoy visiting this and other state parks--contribute to their maintenance. If you have a moment, practice CITO--cache your way in and pick up trash on the way out.
