Like a watchful sentinel, the impressive ridge of Hvalebykampen overlooks the lands of Hadeland, and it can also be easily spotted from many other parts of Østlandet. Unknown to most, there’s more than one summit; walking the back of Hvalebykampen involves so much up and down that some visitors claim to have found three, four and even five summits. However, the official number is two, both sites of various installations.
Note: The above coordinates point to a convenient parking spot. Finding this cache requires the visitor to explore the entire ridge and find two other caches:
Bernhard #49 Tjuice, which holds the N coordinate
Bernhard #50 That’s not a lousy view!, which holds the E coordinate.
There’s a parking south of the ridge and another one north of the ridge. You can approach from either one, but there is a toll to be paid for the northern one.
The cache is winter available, but only a blue marked summer trail goes over the mountain. It is skiable, (I’ve done it!), but skiing here is really only for the very interested.
The cache is hidden at 768 meters above sea level, slightly below the summit area.
Views towards the west are excellent, thanks to logging that took place here s few years ago (and ruined the first hiding place of this cache). A nice eastern viewpoint can be found aproximately 100 meters south of the cache (see additional waypoint).
The cache is an army food container, heavily styled. It has the Mark of the Moose. color and carrying several Marks of the Moose.

On July 30 2015 I gave this ccache and its two support caches a full makeover, and found a new hiding place for this one. The three caches now have a uniform design with large boxes, elegant logbooks and some nice content. Hope you'll enjoy.
