Geocache Description:

The Cache is hidden between two large ponds. The access is through a beautiful old Oak wood. The trail starts at the main road on a marked footpath which winds through the wood and round the edge of the first pond and down to the cache location

The Cache is set in the Bluebell woods of Marden in Kent. The village is set in the Weald of Kent and is still very agricultural. The walk starts at a footpath between two houses, a converted oast house and a converted barn at N51.10.439, E000.30.348. Parking is easy as there us usually plenty of space to park at the roadside along the Howland Road just up towards the village from the start location. Be sure to park in the 30 mph paved area for safety. It appears to be a private drive but the footpath is the small foot gate to the side. The walk will take you over the railway line and down into an orchard with an old storage barn right in front of you. When you get to the barn turn right and head towards the wood. The entrance is under a broken bow which forms an arch in the hedgerow. The Cache does not appear to be far away but the walk through the wood does meander a bit. Although there is tree cover your GPS should work ok, and if it doesn't just follow the clearly defined paths (they will be fairly muddy if it rains). There are two large ponds at the location so keep an eye on your kids, Geohounds are welcome but be mindfull the water does not smell too nice. Wear trousers as the brambles do encroach on the path during the summer months.
