Geocache Description:

Gentle walk through woodland or coastal path. Paddle on the beach but I would not look for treasure here. You need to walk along the trail!

The Monks Trail

The cache is only a small cache and may be found in the secluded cove at Monk Haven.

Following the Pembrokeshire coast path or just parking up and walking through the beautiful woodland valley will bring you to the delightful secluded cove of Monk Haven. There is plenty to see here for the naturist, the historian or even us plebs the ramblers. Look for the gothic folly. Whilst walking through the valley look for amphibians like frogs, toads and newts, and invertebrates and insects like pond snails, water spiders and pond skaters in the pond. Dragonflies and damselflies will hunt near the water, as will many birds, like heron, and small mammals like water voles.
Pond plants include the parrot's feather with feathery leaves, which provide dense cover on the pond margins; golden creeping Jenny, an evergreen with glossy round golden yellow leaves; and the common water lily, which likes sunshine and rich soil. Water mint, water forget-me-not, irises, spearwort, ragged robin and marsh marigold are commonly found at the margins of ponds.
The tiny church at St Ishmaels has an unusual bell tower and dates back to 940 AD.

Original cache contents: tape measure, 500 drachma note, stapler, squeaker, 10p token, logo bug, ladybird, photo frame, marble, logbook, pencils and sharpener.

If you are doing more caches in the area look at the Wanderer multi cache as well to save doubling back!
