Geocache Description:

Varn-Lehenkopf, Farnlehenkopf, Brentenkopf, Brandenkopf

Varn-Lehenkopf, Farnlehenkopf, Brentenkopf, Brandenkopf
many names for the landmark of the mid Black Forrest where five communites and three valleys meet.

The hill got his current name due to a devastating fire in the year 1730.
Thanks to the 'Schwarzwaldverein' there is stone tower (29m) with a magnificant view on the mountain which replaced a wooden tower which was formerly built in 1905.

The site locates also a 125m tall radio mast used by 'SWR' and two large wind turbines

Depending on how much you want to walk you may
park at:
  • N48 20.749 E008 08.690,
  • N48 20.940 E008 09.654
  • or even directly on the top.
Those who choosed walking might be happy about the inn next to the tower (closed mondays). Those who not might too :-)
