This cache has been archived.

Prime Reviewer: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Camp Howze is a old WWII POW camp near Gainesville, Tx. There is another cache by the historical marker, but we chose to place ours close to a view of the remaining barracks. Take time to read the history of this place, and leave a story or two of your own. This is a great piece of history that help shape the gainesville area... after the war many POW's stayed and formed local towns like muenster just 15 or so miles down 82. Please take the time to drive around the area roads and look at all the stones sticking up, they were the foundation for the barracks that were tore down. The barracks are on private property so please do not jump the fench. There is a prize inside for the first to find. Its our first hide so let us know how you like it. You are looking for a ammo green box
