Loughview - Redburn Country Park Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Pat&Rascal: I have inspected the cache site. Over time the location has become overgrown by weeds, including nettles and brambles. It is no longer suitable as a cache site so, with regret, I will have to archive it. Thanks to all who have enjoyed finding this cache over the years.

Geocache Description:

Cache located in a Country Park. It is within 30 metres of one of the paths. Cache is a 10cm tab lock plastic box. Follow the paths! Requires climbing 400 feet (120m) on paths.

The cache was placed to encourage folk to visit this excellent park situated on the hills above Hollywood, Co. Down in Northern Ireland. The hillside is steep, and consequently the paths zig-zag up and down the slope, so a direct approach is not advised. Follow the paths.

From the cache location you have a superb view of Belfast Lough and the Lagan Valley. If you get there at the right time on the right day you will see a spectacular sunset.

To find the cache you will have to walk through the park. I hope you will enjoy your visit.

05-aug-07 - New cache GC14GF2 laid 180 metres away by pete1863. Since you have climbed all this way, try that one too!

Access is from The Old Holywood Road. Car Parks are available (see additional waypoints).
