Park and grab.Tackle box.We used to buy our tackle at Economy Tackle in Sarasota.
I picked up a TB in South Dakota that is a fishing reel. The owner wanted it to be near fishing holes. I couldn't think of any so I made this cache.
The cache is full of fishing tackle. There are a lot of bobbers of different sizes and colors that I picked up at various time while canoeing the Econ River. And other stuff too. Trade some or if you need some take it and go fishing.
Tell a fishing story on your post. Feel free to embelish it however you want.
Here's my story: In the summer Dad used to wake us up at 4:00AM to go to the Jetties in Venice. We would get there before day break to start fishing. At day break the game fish would start hitting in the glass shiners. There were millions of shiners trying to jump out of the water to get away. There was tarpon, snook, lady fish, jack fish, skip jacks, blue runners, mutton minnows, all feeding on what ever they could. We were there for the snook.
I used to like to fish with a dude. Everyone now calls that a jig. I would try to catch lady fish because it was the best bait there was for the big snook that lived on the channel side of the jetties. The snook were so big that sometimes we would use a live lady fish that was at least 18 inches long. All the adult fishermen would wait in line for me to catch them one.
One of those mornings I was reeling in a lady fish with my light spinning reel. As I was about to lift it out of the water a huge mouth opened up in front of me and grabbed it. It took off with my hook in it's mouth and my reel was singing. Dad told me to tighten the drag so I did. That got the huge tarpon I had on to jump. We all estimated it to be at least 100 pounds. When it jumped it spit out my hook that came soaring over our heads.
Later in the morning the porpoises would come in and feed on all the big fish still around. I saw one chasing a snook one time. Other times they would come under a school of mullet. They would knock them up in the air and let them fall into their mouth...
