Close to the road passing over Sognefjellet lies is a large stone
looking like a head. 10-20 m south-west of the cache location you
get a great view of the head.
The cache is normally covered with snow from November to the
beginning of July.
Some stories are telling that this might be the head of the old
God Mime from Norse Mythology
Mime was A Jotun with his own well of wisdom. After the long
Vanir/Aesir wars representatives from each family of gods are
chosen as hostages to be delivered unto the other clan. Mime gets
sent to the Vanir. When they feel betrayed they chop off his head
and send it back to the Aesir. But Odin takes charge, grips the
head and starts galdring over it, in effect reviving Mimes head.
After this Odin learns much from Mime's head, and he often make
sure to confer with Mime in times of trouble.
