How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

We placed our cache in the woods near the outdoor shelter at the Southgate Community Center.

It is a camouflaged 2.3 quart Rubbermaid container.

We decided to have a theme, but don't worry about sticking to it: we've placed mostly whistles and keychains inside. Plus some other assorted things.

If you've come through the park across the ballfield and wondered why you only found one lake, they filled in one of the two lakes to make the ballfield. Thus the name of the cache.

Some notes about our cache: It's in a lightly wooded area, so poison ivy is always possible, even though it is not in abundance. Dogs are welcome in the park. Restrooms are across the field in the main building. There is water available at the shelter, the small playground and at the main building. [Note For Winter: The outside drinking water is turned off in the winter, but you can get water from the sink in the bathroom.]

Happy Hunting
