1938, Golden Cloud played Trigger for the first time in the movie Washington Cowboy, a movie in which Roy Rogers played a cowboy in Washington, D.C. It was the beginning of a life-long partnership. Roy liked the horse so much that he bought him. Trigger was an easy going horse for a stallion. He was smart and performed his tricks for the cameras with no problem. He was certainly not camera shy! Trigger was also fast, which was why Roy Rogers decided to name him Trigger. Roy and Trigger made quite a few movies, and went on to a television show. When Trigger was older and went into retirement, his son, Trigger Junior, took his place. Trigger had a long and happy life and when he finally died he was almost 30 years old. Roy loved him so much, he had his body stuffed and it is displayed today in Trigger's famous pose rearing up, at the Roy Rogers Museum.
