Easy walk up a slight incline. Take a minute to take in the views.
You are looking for a much smaller version than what is in
Gibralter :)
This cache is placed on the site of Golborne Colliery. The name Kid
Glove is believed to have come from the official who cut the first
sod for the pit. It is alleged that he dropped his glove and in
humour said “ I name this pit KID GLOVE” I have spoke to several
people about this and they believe it to be true. There is now an
industrial estate on the area and behind that there is a lovely
recreation area. If you walk to the top of the hill you can see for
miles on a clear day. It is very peaceful and a fitting memorial to
those who lost their lives at the colliery, the most recent being
in 1979. I remember that day well, as many others do. There is now
a memorial stone placed at what was the entrance to the pit. There
is easy parking in this area. Please replace the cache so as its
hidden from view of mugglers. You can see the new wind turbines over
Bury on a clear day
