This is a tour of historic downtown Marquette - This cache should be done during the daylight hours.
This cache is a tour of several historic sites in downtown Marquette. Each site has an informational sign. Facts from these signs will lead you to the next site.
They are all drive up or a very short walk to the sign. The whole trip is about 1 ½ miles if you want a nice hike through downtown.
The tour starts at the Chamber of Commerce office. The given coordinates are for the entrance to the parking area at the Chamber. There are two historic signs at this location (one on the north side of the building and one on the south side.
At Stage 1—To find stage 2 _ Add the day in May that the priest died to 462 to get AAA. To get BBB subtract the year that the settlement was renamed from 2768.

At Stage 2 – To find stage 3 - Add the day in January that this person died to 469 to get CCC. To get DDD subtract the year this person died from 2637.

At Stage 3 – To find stage 4 – Add the number of thousand dollars that it cost to build this building to 418 to get EEE. To get FFF add the amount that President Roosevelt was awarded to 786.

At Stage 4 – The Historical sign was hit by a car and was destroyed. Until it is replaced: To find stage 5 – Subtract the year (1891) that this building was constructed from 2454 to get GGG. To get HHH add the number of students (32) who attended NMU when it used this building in 1899 to 426.

To find the ½ gallon cache – look in the bushes to the east.
