Geocache Description:

A small cache celebrating on of Richmond County's many mysteries.

What Is This, and Why Is It Here??

I have asked myself that many times while passing this structure just off US 1, and I thought I'd put a cache there to see what others think.

It's your usual small cache. Log book, writing instrument, a few items for trade, etc. The more interesting thing about it is where it is placed. Obviously, someone took a lot of time and trouble building this thing, but what is it? And why is it here?

Minimal bushwacking is required, and you'll see what it is right away. The hardest thing about this cache is finding a place to park. This does not appear to be on private land, but of course respect other's property as usual, and, as always, safety first.

So take a look. Find the cache. Sign the log. Trade an item or two. But when you log your find, make a guess, and post it in the log. I'd love to know what you think. If you don't know, make something up. I'm looking forward to hearing your theories.

FYI:
This cache would count for Page 72 on the North Carolina Delorme Challenge (GCTYE6), and for Richmond County on the North Carolina County Challenge (GC19YRC)
