Geocache Description:

A small walk between the E411 and the E42 motorway on the Old
railroad line 142

Le petit tunnel sous l'E42 marque l'entrée du Ravel en Hesbaye. Vers le sud, une longue descente de plus de 7 km permet d'atteindre Namur et la Meuse en douceur. Vers le nord, l'ancienne ligne de chemin de fer entame sa longue traversée de la Hesbaye.

Pour une ballade agréable, malgré le bruit provoqué par le noeud autoroutier tout proche (invisble grâce au tunnel de végétation), un parking vous attend aux coordonnées N 50°31.065 E 4°52.956

Attention aux utilisateurs de Tomtom and co: Les coordonnées peuvent être facilement accessibles directement de l'autoroute, mais ce serait dangereux (et d'ailleurs interdit).

Cette cache fait partie d'une série (dénommée L142*) étallée le long de la ligne 142. L'idée est de permettre de combiner ces caches, toutes +/- drive-in, au cours d'une randonnée cycliste facile sur cette ancienne ligne de chemin de fer aménagée en Ravel.

The small tunnel under E42 marks the entry the exit of Ravel in Hesbaye. Towards the south, a long descent of more than 7 km makes it possible to reach Namur and the Meuse without an effort. Towards north, the old railway line starts its long crossing of Hesbaye.

For a pleasant walk, despite the noise caused by the near motorways (invisble thanks to the tunnel of vegetation), parking awaits you at N 50°31.065 E 4°52.956.

Attention with the users of Tomtom And Co: The co-ordinates can be easily accessible directly from the motorway, but this would be dangerous (and besides prohibited) !

This geocache is part of a series (named L142*) which will mark out line 142, in order to be used as support for a longest buteasy “cyclist-geocaching-drive-in” journey along this old railway line which connected Namur to Tirlemont/Tienen.
