Roeder Park is the fourth of the four original parks in Boerne. This neighborhood park, like Veterans Plaza on the Haupstrasse, is dedicated as a memorial to WWII sailors and soldiers.
On the 18th of June, 1945, C. T. and Eva Roberts deeded four lots in the Cibolo Park Addition to the City of Boerne. Their donation created a park and granite monument to honor the memory of twin brothers, Aaron and Allen Roeder, who were killed in World War II while serving aboard the USS Bismark in the South Pacific. The names of seven other Kendall County men who died in action in Europe and the South Pacific are also inscribed on the marker.
The residents that surround the park have asked that it remain a simple green space without amenities. There is one swing set and plenty of open area. When the neighborhood children are not playing ball, it's very quiet around here. Well-tended homes along the street make for watchful residents. Please be respectful in your search.
There is no need to move rocks to find the container.
The park is easily accessible for those with disabilities, but assistance will be needed to reach the container.
You may also find a cache at the other three original parks: Main Plaza (GCT5QC), Riverside Park (GCW9JG) and Veterans Plaza (GCT2NN). Since these three require a little more effort, this one is easy.
