MainePublisher: All geocache placements must have a responsive owner. The cache owner must be able to respond to issues that come up and to submit an "owner maintenance" log to remove the "needs maintenance" icon.

In this case, Groundspeak has sent an email to the cache owner with no response. The cache owner did not respond to any of the cachers hoping to find the cache and did not respond to the reviewer note so the cache is now archived.

The cache location is now open for any Geocacher to place a new cache, including the original cache owner.

Geocache Description:

a.k.a: the F.B.I. = the Freeport Big Indian, today he's more politically correct in being called "M.B.N.A." - Maine's Big Native American.

The Big Freeport Indian (BFI), standing over 50’ high resides, at 125 Rt. 1 South and is owned by WinterPeople Inc.

The site of the “Indian” was originally Casco Bay Trading Post and WinterPeople has restored the landmark back to what it "used to be". The “Big Indian” is made of wood and fiberglass and has been a landmark at the entrance of Freeport Maine for over 40 years.

When they moved the Big Indian from its manufacturer to Maine in the '60s, it caused such a sensation on the NJ Turnpike that the state demanded the driver only drive at night.

Cache is an ammo box NOT a Rubbermaid container. This is a quick Park and Grab and great photo op for the locals as well as the tourists. Please put back exactly as you find it!!!!!

Placed with permission of the owner. The proprietors of both the sandwich shop and the clothing company both know there is a cache here. They were very gracious to allow me to place it here. If it goes missing please contact me instead of them or I will be forced to take it down.
