Cursed Rest Stop Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Jhwk: Over 500 finds and almost 13 years the cache is once again cursed. Not being able to maintain it properly any more or find a suitable new owner, I have decided to finally archive my oldest cache. Thanks to all who have stopped by over the years. May the caches always appear for you.

Geocache Description:

Typical rest stop micro cache. Elevation 1001 - if you care.

This location is CURSED. This cache is the fourth to be placed at the Doolittle Rest stop since 2005. Please be very careful in your hunting, logging, and replacing. The container is a waterproof matchbox container, colored camo. No room for swag, and bring your own pen/cil.

*Update* exactly one year after being placed, the cache was thought to have gone missing. luckily, it was just pushed back in the hiding spot too far. Don't let the curse get you.*

**Update 2** the cache can no longer be 'removed' from its hiding spot, but, fear not, it just needs a simple twist to release the goods.**

***Update 3*** the rest stop is now a truck parking spot. There is nothing to say that a car can't stop here... Just more of the curse of the cash. I have updated the helper below. Since the State removed ALL of the picnic tables, the closest man-made object is now a light pole roughly 30 feet North of the hide location.

****Update 4**** In true cursing tradition, the cache hiding location 'ate' the original container. The cache is now in the obvious hiding spot - facing the old auto parking area. You don't have to worry about camo too much - just return it to its resting place for the next cacher. If you would like, step around the hide spot and see the original container entombed.

1. The cache container does not have to be perfectly hidden, just replaced in its spot.
2. You can remove the lid to get at the log, just don't over tighten the lid when you replace it (death of cache container # 2 and 3).

To make your hunt easier, here is your first clue:

The obvious hole
On the side where the traffic is less loud.

Enjoy the cache, and have a safe trip through the heartland.

Congratulations to Ms. Frog for her First, First-to-Find!

Final Update - 15 Feb 2019. Over 500 finds and almost 13 years the cache is once again cursed. Not being able to maintain it properly any more or find a suitable new owner, I have decided to finally archive my oldest cache. Thanks to all who have stopped by over the years. May the caches always appear for you.
