Geocache Description:

Our second cache and it's another circular walk. This time around the wooded edge of Wimpole Hall estate.

************************************************************
This cache seems to have a habit of moving away from its last resting place.
This is not a bad thing, but please, if you move it to another position, or find it away from those currently recorded; log the new co-ordinates for the next person to use.
************************************************************

Pharisee has done a magnificent job of describing the estate and it's history on his 'Wimpole Wander' cache page: GCHY7, so I won't repeat it here. Although the listing is now archived, you can still access it for reference.

This cache takes you on an easy three mile walk through the north of Wimpole Hall estate. It can be a bit muddy in poor weather, but is accessible throughout the year, with each season giving a different display.

This map shows the full route, those not wishing to do the complete walk (shame on you) will be able to work out a more direct route to the cache.

Wimpole Hall is accessed from the A603 Cambridge Road between Wimpole and Orwell.

The National Trust now operates a Pay and Display car park at Wimpole Hall, not a problem if you are a member but if you are only paying a quick caching visit you could try and park on the road which runs between the A1198 and the A603 map Otherwise, why not make a day of it and complete GCJDNF too.

Like most National Trust properties, there are tea rooms, shops and toilets available during opening hours: Details
