Geocache Description:

This cache is a small lock and lock container and was initially stocked with toy frogs and turtles.

I frequently encounter both old cemeteries and unused/abandoned forest roads while geocaching. I like to explore both, reading the old headstones and following the roads to see where they lead. This cache will allow you to do both activities since it is located on a forest road that has its terminus in an older section of the Evergreen Cemetery in Berwick, Maine.

Park at 43 17.374 N and 070 51.358 W. The dirt road on which the cache is located enters the forest at the northeast corner of the cemetery. (A sharp eye will note that the remnants of this same road appear to serve as part of the eastern boundary of the cemetery.) Do not attempt to drive to the cache, as this road has not seen traffic in many years.

To the left of the road's entrance into the woods, are a number of early to mid nineteenth century gravestones. Stop by and read a few during your walk to and back from the cache.
