Geocache Description:

Short walk from parking area to cache. Be sure to explore all this park has to offer!

This 55-acre recreation park served as a dairy farm in the 1930’s, then as the site of Navy housing for Quonset Point through the mid-1970’s. The town of North Kingstown acquired the land from the Navy in 1975 and developed the park under a Rhode Island Open Space and Recreation grant. There is something for everyone at this park including recreational facilities for baseball, soccer, basketball and tennis as well as scenic picnic spots, bike trails and footpaths. There is even a boat ramp, located at Long Point, which offers access to area coves and the West Bay!

Explore salt-marsh ecology on the footpath along Mill Cove. At the start of the path, interpretive signs describe what to look for, what a salt marsh is and discuss the importance of this fragile ecosystem.

Please re-hide the cache in the manner it was found, with “natural cover” as this is a very busy park.
