Geocache Description:

Takhini is located about 20 minutes away from downtown Whitehorse, off Highway #2. This cache is excellent for anyone that is planning to take a soak in the local hot springs or staying in the nearby campgrounds. The terrain climbs just under 200 feet from the trail head to the cache, which is located above the most of the surrounding valley.

This is a KID ORIENTED/ KID FRIENDLY cache with an artistic activity/theme to the log book entries:

Activity:
Included in the cache is a logbook with colored pencils, eraser and sharpener. The idea is that in this very scenic and peaceful location with a spectacular Yukon view, it should serve as an inspiration for the artist in all of us. So, log your visit, and take a few minutes to let the creative juices flow! (Remember its a kids cache, so make sure its appropriate).

There are several different trails that can be taken that will ultimately take you to this cache, however the most direct trail begins behind the campground (N60 52.827 / W135 21.366), straight up from the parking lot at the Takhini Hot Springs. The trail takes you through a landscape that was affected by a wildland fire nearly 50 years. Pack a snack or lunch and take in the beautiful view below.
