Geocache Description:

Page co-ordinates are for the parking.

All that remains of the 14th century Edzell Old Church is the small burial Aisle. The Aisle was built by the Lindsays of Edzell as a chantry chapel in the 16th century and was later used as their burial vault. The Lindsay family also built the present Edzell castle (16th century)- Well worth a visit! Both the burial Aisle and the Castle are now under the care of Historic Scotland (admission charge to castle)

The mound just across the road from the page co-ordinates is the site of the original Edzell Castle

To find the cache, you will need to wander round the cemetery and find the final resting place of the Earls of Dalhousie, whose family seat is the nearby Brechin Castle.
