The original bridge here was a single span, lattice-steel/wrought iron road bridge, built in 1877 by W Grant of Kirriemuir (civil engineers), contractors P & W McLellan of Clutha Iron Works, Glasgow.
This bridge was blocked off in 2000 and demolished due to safety fears. After a public outcry, the bridge was replaced a year later.
It is worth walking over the bridge to see the pretty river views over the West Water, and the lovely sandstone built Dunlappie House.
There is an ancient burial site on the banks of the river on the opposite side of the road to Dunlappie House. When we set the cache however, we couldnt find a way to access this easily.
Cache is a 300ml screwtop container
