Geocache Description:

The Keifer Cemetery is located near George Rogers Clark Park in the Shawnee Springs subdivision. This Cemetery is on land that was once part of the Keifer farm. General J. Warren Keifer’s father, Joseph Keifer bought the land in the early 1800’s. Many of the grave markers no longer mark the grave sites. The dates of deaths range from 1827 – 1870. Most of the Keifer graves have been moved to Ferncliff Cemetery in Springfield. The cemetery is maintained by Bethel Township who approved this geocache hide.

One of the main reasons for choosing this cemetery is Joseph Keifer is my Great-Great-Great-Grandfather. Some parking is available at the cemetery.

The cache is a film canister so you need to bring your own pen. This is our first hide so have fun.
