This cache has been archived.

OReviewer: As there's been no cache to find for a long time or has had no owner response for at least 30 days, I'm archiving it to keep it from showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

Please note that if geocaches are archived by a reviewer or Geocaching HQ for lack of maintenance, they are not eligible for unarchival.

Geocache Description:

The Lunchtime Caching Crew™ - the trio of cachers who seem to have more time on their hands, more cash in their pockets and more jealous looks than anyone else they know - are not just the "pretty boys" of caching. With all their FTFs and their cumulative 3K+ finds, their friendship, their wit and intelligence and their 1337 kung fu; it is no wonder that others wish to emulate them - or at least join the team. But these folks are mere mortals compared to the following two men; whom are truly worthy of being their patron saints.

The first patron saint candidate would have to be Dr. Spencer Silver. Not an every day name, but one whose product the LCC™ uses frequently. His invention was originally a failure. It was his intent to make a glue for 3M, the problem was that the molecular level lattice work elements didn't hold very well. He tried to use the the glue as a covering for a bulletin board, but this too ended in failure. Seems that both notes and photos would stick equally well; as would dust, dirt and other debris. Over time the not so sticky glue would lose its tackiness and the product would become worthless.

It was only after another 3M employee and LCC's™ second patron saint candidate had a problem, that the Post-it Notes came into being. When Mr. Arthur Fry needed to find a way to keep his bookmarks from falling out of his hymnal during his energetic singing, he made them semi-sticky. But Fry knew that 3M would want a product that they could sell, and sell and sell some more and semi-sticky hymnal bookmarks didn't seem to fit the bill. It was only when he noticed that co-workers were writing up "to do" lists, phone messages, grocery lists and other short notes; that the product as we know it today was finally born.

Struggling back from early failures, the Post-it Notes now belong to the five most successful and most frequently used office products of our time. And for that, the LCC™ salutes Dr. Spencer Silver and Mr. Arthur Fry.

Now, where did I put those coordinates?
