Geocache Description:

This is a small cache big enough for geocoins and a couple TBs of smaller size. Coverage at the cache site is a little poor and the difficulty reflects it.

A couple years ago I picked up a first edition hardcover of "Where the Sidewalk Ends" by Shel Silverstein at a thrift store for about a quarter. When I was little I had parts of "Where the Sidewalk Ends" read to me and I always wondered where the sidewalk did end. Did it fall off the edge of the world or what? In the middle of the book is a poem about The Edge of the World and there is a picture there of a little girl on her knees looking down over the edge of the world. I always had that picture fixed in my mind whenever I thought about where the sidewalk ends.

Well, I finally found where the sidewalk ends! When you get to the above coordinates, you will see a sign that says, "Sidewalk Ends" and so it does. So, there it is for all of you who spent your life wondering where it ended. I found it for you.

There is no need to go near the edge of the road. The cache can be reached with just a step off the sidewalk. No need to trample the bushes or get yourself all scratched up. Just take your time and enjoy where the sidewalk ends.

The cache started with two geocoins and a TB. If you take a geocoin, please drop a different one back in. I would like to keep a geocoin in there at all times. If they both happen to disappear, I'll stop by and drop another in.

If you look for it, there is very close parking, just don't let the gate close and latch behind you or you'll have a good walk back around.

Happy hunting!

Update 8/14/06: As Poodleranch commented, this is a busy street and although the cache is not hidden on the street side, it may not be the best place for small children. The rest of the sidewalk has a barricade between it and the road but that ends shortly before the sidewalk does.
