The Cache Across America Series: This is a series of caches that will take you on a caching tour of the entire United States. One cache is hidden in each of the 50 states. These caches each contain a numeric clue that will lead you to one final cache located in our nation's capital upon completion of the series.

If you are visiting from out of state: (or even far away in-state): and if you'll be in Albuquerque on a weeknight, I'd love to host a meet-n-greet for you! Try to let me know as far ahead of time as possible so an event can be published.

About this cache: It was difficult to choose a location for this cache; there is no one area that typifies the essence of the amazing state of New Mexico! From the Organ Mountains, White Sands, and the City of Rocks in southern NM, to the beautiful mountains, calderas, and geographic highlights of the north, with buttes, the Jornada del Muerto, mesas, hoodoos and tent rocks between, there is so much to see here for the outdoor enthusiast.

As with the geography, you'll find a range of cultures and history in New Mexico. There are ancient cultures from Anasazi to current Pueblo and a more recent tricultural heritage, including rural ranches and farms, sophisticated city life, and universities. New Mexico history runs from the prehistoric through early explorers, the Camino Real, Civil War sites, to present day cutting edge technology throughout the state.

We wound up placing the cache nearly smack dab in the center of the state, hoping you'd take the time to check out the rest of the state along the way...you may choose to follow the Camino Real and the Rio Grande River, which was our route to the cache (see pics). The Gran Quivera National Monument is just a few miles west of the cache, and definitely worth a stop!

Please post a photo of yourself with the cache, AND a favorite photo which typifies New Mexico in your mind, with your log. I originated the cache with some New Mexico items; it would be nice if NM cachers would leave these for out-of-staters and add additional New Mexico-type swag to the cache. Thanks! Can't wait to see your photos!

Logging Requirements: Enjoy this cache as you would any other. If you are searching this cache as a participant in the Cache Across America series, please post a photo of yourself or a member of your group with the cache in your online log. If you for some reason are unable to meet the photo requirement, please make alternate arrangements to verify your find with the individual cache owner.

Individual verification of all 50 state finds will be required before logging the series final.

If participating in the series, please take note of the three digit code located inside this cache. Save this code in a secure place. When you have visited all 50 caches, and have collected all 50 codes, you are welcome to seek and find the final cache! Good luck!
