Nothing fancy planned (yet), just an enjoyable late
morning/early afternoon conversing with fellow cachers about
some of your favorite geo-stories.
Event to be held
at Cameron Park
Lake
(main entrance off of
Cambridge Road)
Saturday, September 9th
10 am
- 3 pm
If
you have not been to Cameron Park Lake before, it is a very
relaxed and family oriented location. Besides the usual
raffle and other geo-event happenings, there is a variety of
other activities to keep you occupied in between caching.
Sorry, no fireworks but some activities do include swimming
in a designated sandy swimming lagoon, fishing*, and paddleboating. For the kids
there is a nice new playground with small climbing
walls.
This
will be your typical pot-luck style dining. I'm sure most of
you know how it works already and if you are a newbie, bring
your favorite dish to share with others. There is a main
barbeque area that will be fired up as well as multiple
smaller barbeque pits throughout the reserved area if you so
choose. Plates, utensils, napkins, etc will be
provided.
Included
with the venue fees are passes for the first 75 people. Since
I can not possibly distubute these before the event, there
will be a cache set up very close by with the passes inside.
Please take only what you need for your group. Children 6 and
under are free (no pass required) and if you are not one of
the first 75, passes are a nominal $1.50 each if you state
you are with the geocaching group. In and out priveledges are
allowed.
Please
check back for updates when event time gets closer. The time
may possibly be moved back an hour. If so, there should be
more than a handful of caches in the area for folks to grab.
Even if you have grabbed most in the area, I would expect
there to be a few new ones .
This
one stings, but sorry - this park does not allow dogs
.
Hope
to see you all there !
*park fishing rules: valid fishing license required,
