Geocache Description:

Sillery Sands is a long pebble beach where the cliffs of Countisbury Hill tower above, locally well known for its great bass fishing. At night fisherman’s lanterns can often be seen along the beach from the nearby village of Lynmouth.
Warning the path is narrow in places, and can be slippery when wet, keep children close at all times.

Warning the path is narrow in places, and can be slippery when wet, keep children close at all times. The beach can only be reached safely be a narrow cliff edge, hill hugging path which is often populated by sheep, although at very low tide it is possible to walk from Lynmouth along the rocky beach (this is not recommended) In the late summer months Countisbury Hill (which is said to be the highest cliff in England) is covered in a mass of purple heather, when the sun sets on the hill the colours are stunning. Whilst walking to the cache, an experimental Current Turbine can be seen just off the coast (unless there is a sea mist!!)

A short walk from the suggested parking which is free but on a steep hill with fantastic views N51° 13.844 W003°48.163 Take the footpath signposted Coast Path at N51° 13.830 W003°49.688 take the lesser trodden path to the left. The path will lead straight to the cache, there is no need to leave the paths at any time.

Once the cache has been found please replace carefully and hide well, take the short but steep path down to the beach.
