Geocache Description:

Suggested parking: N38° 43.031 W121° 12.568. Look for the public trail just to the south of the suggested parking. Wear your boots because the trail is muddy in places. This cache is located on a trail “Robbie” loved to play on. Please watch for the typical hazards (slithering serpents, hazardous oak, and the sorts). You are looking for one of “A’s” cammoed jars.

Robbie Stegen… what more can I say. His owners “A” and “P” are some of the finest people you will ever meet and if you met them… you met Robbie. Initially, I was going to write a small tribute to Robbie but I would not have done it justice. So, I will plagiarize what “P” wrote to me about this amazing pup.

“Robbie went on several blitzes out of town and almost always went caching with us no matter the weather or conditions. He loved to cache at Tahoe and to make doggie angels in the snow when we would go to the mountains in winter. One time we were at our cache at Fallen Leaf Lake in October, I believe, when he got to see Taylor Creek full of spawning salmon. Robbie has always loved all dogs and people he met. Ever watchful for an opportunity to socialize, he has always made friends very readily. On East Roseville Parkway, Robbie has been known as the "wall dog" for his ability to jump up, up, up on the walls and pillars. Children from miles around know of Robbie and his abilities. One of the neatest things he has always done is to lay on the feet of visitors to our home while they are sitting and talking with us in the great room. I guess he didn't want them to leave.

I speak for all of us in the RCGDS Land and around… We don’t want you to leave either but wish you peace and prosperity. You are family around here… and not just Robbie’s. If you knew “Robbie” and Family please write a moment you had with them in your log. Especially if you have a good “Robbie” story. I am sure they would enjoy that as they read your logs while sipping pineapple and coconut cocktails and listening to “Tiny Bubbles” in Hawaii.
