Conroe’s finest Travel Bug motel is back in operation.
‘We’ll Leave the Light On’ is an inexpensive, clean, and roomy (.50 caliber size) Travel Bug motel located just off Interstate 45 in Conroe, TX, placed to help Travel Bugs, Hitchhikers, Where's George Dollars, and Geocoins migrate around the country.
The “We’ll Leave the Light On Motel - Redux” rules:
1. All bugs must register upon entering the hotel. There is a log-book in the hotel for their human escorts to sign. It's OK to stop by and pick up a bug without leaving one, if you can help it on its journey. Before you leave a travel bug, please print the bug's page and place it in a Ziploc bag with the bug, or write its goal in the log book so that people can decide which bug to take.
2. Only travel bugs are allowed in the hotel. The sole purpose of this cache is helping travel bugs and other travelers to their destinations.
3. Human visitors are permitted. Be sure to sign the motel register on your first visit.
4. Log your first visit to the hotel as a "Found," and any subsequent visits to the cache to drop off or pick up other travel bugs as a "Note."
5. It's permissible to take more than one Travel Bug if you can genuinely help the hitchhikers on their journey, however please do not take ALL the travel bugs. Let everyone have a chance to participate.
The motel is a short walk from the parking area, slightly less than .1 mile. If it hasn’t rained lately, the cache can be done “business casual.” Most of the walk can be along a paved trail till abeam the motel, if you choose.
This cache is easily accessible to travelers on Interstate 45, both north and south bound. Take the Crighton Rd exit to Crighton Road from either direction. Parking is available along Crighton Road or in the strip mall parking lot across the road. Easy off/easy on from either direction! CAUTION: I-45 is presently being widened in this area, and exits may move or change name with little or no warning.
