This old corall was built in the late 1930's. It served the local ranchers as a place to hold their cattle on the drive from the mountains to the San Rafael Swell (for summer or winter ranges). At the height of its use hundreds of calves were branded, ear-marked and castrated. The cattle and sometimes sheep, were run through a dipping vat to control ticks and lice. The corral contained a scale for weighing animals to be sold. At this time it is only used occasionally as large cattle drives are no longer feasible.
