Jackass Hill is the site of the cabin where Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) first heard then wrote the story of the Jumping Frog of Calaveras. This short story would forever change American literature.

Take a moment to read the plaques here. You will likely still hear the hee-haw of a descendant of the original noisemakers who interrupted Mark Twain's writing.
